How determined was the HRV softball team to play a game earlier this week? Determined enough to play through a combination of snow, sleet, rain and hail Wednesday. Megan Winans tries to keep warm at first base during the worst the weather could dish out. HRV and Milwaukie finished the game, going all seven innings with HRV winning 7-0.

From Sen. Jeff Merkley's office:

Due to on-going budget negotiations, Senator Merkley is postponing his townhalls this weekend in Sherman, Wasco, Jefferson and Hood River Counties. We'll reschedule soon.

Merkley was scheduled to hold town halls in Hood River and The Dalles Saturday.

I Can't Keep Quiet singers at "Citizen Town Hall"

‘I can’t keep quiet,’ sing members of an impromptu choir in front of Hood River Middle School Saturday prior to the citizen town hall for questions to Rep. Greg Walden. The song addresses female empowerment generally and sexual violence implicitly, and gained prominence during the International Women’s Day events in January. The singers braved a sudden squall to finish their song and about 220 people gathered in HRMS auditorium, which will be the scene of the April 12 town hall with Rep. Greg Walden, at 3 p.m. Enlarge
