Gorge hoops action heats up

Indian Outlaws of The Dalles defeated Pee Wee’s Auto Detail of Hood River, 74-63 Sunday to retain top spot in Gorge Hoops League with a 9-0 record.

Pee Wees took an early lead but Indian Outlaws grabbed control in the second half to ensure the victory.

Other scores were: River Monsters 84- H.R. Wolfpack 61; The Duty Shoots 77- Trout Lake 61; Sarsfield Cattle 86 -Run & Gun 72; The Dalles 72 - Fury 66; Low End Theory 68 - Lucky 13 54

I Can't Keep Quiet singers at "Citizen Town Hall"

‘I can’t keep quiet,’ sing members of an impromptu choir in front of Hood River Middle School Saturday prior to the citizen town hall for questions to Rep. Greg Walden. The song addresses female empowerment generally and sexual violence implicitly, and gained prominence during the International Women’s Day events in January. The singers braved a sudden squall to finish their song and about 220 people gathered in HRMS auditorium, which will be the scene of the April 12 town hall with Rep. Greg Walden, at 3 p.m. Enlarge
