Football pick'em contest for weekend of November 23-25 now open

It's time to get your picks in for the Hood River News weekly football pick'em contest.

So far guest pickers are 67-41, Hood River News reporter Ben McCarty has a record of record of 65-43 while News Editor Kirby Neumann-Rea is 66-42

You can view a list of this week's games and the "expert picks in the PDF document at left.

Think you can beat them? Then get in your picks for a chance at weekly prizes or the grand prize of a 42-inch tv.

Sixth Annual Harvest Fest Pie Eating Contest

The sixth annual Pie Eating Contest at Hood River Harvest Fest is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and HRVHS youth service group Leaders for Tomorrow. HRVHS student Dylan Polewczyk won the 1-minute fruit-pie eating event. Key rule, as stated by Chamber President Jason Shaner, “You have to eat the pie, you can’t just dislocate it.
