FISH benefit at White Buffalo
On Sunday, April 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be a benefit brunch at White Buffalo Wine Bar & Bistro in Hood River. The cost is $20 with 100 percent of the proceeds going to support the FISH Food Bank Building Project. The brunch will serve farm fresh eggs and sausage from a local Mt. Jazz, Flamenco at Gallery 301
The Hood River Jazz Theater plays the Gallery 301 on Friday, April 19. Mike Stillman will be herding these hep cats, so join them for some raucous music starting at 5 p.m.
Mark your calender for the “Ciudades Northwest Flamenco Tour” on Saturday, May 4. This all-ages show will be an evening of flamenco music and dance featuring singer Jesus Montoya, guitarist Pedro Cortes and dancer Savannah Fuentes. ‘Women in the Dirt’ April 24
Columbia Center for the Arts monthly film series features “Women in the Dirt” on Wednesday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m. “Women in the Dirt,” by Carolann Stoney, is part of the Mt. Hood Independent Film Festival. Local female landscaper designers will be on hand for the film.
“Women in the Dirt” is a documentary about seven groundbreaking landscape architects. Their work ranges from intimate, jewel-like gardens to vast urban projects. Through conversations with the designers in their offices, or outdoors in the stunning spaces they’ve designed, the film explores each woman’s personal aesthetics and approach to her discipline. Columbia Center for the Arts is located at 215 Cascade Ave. in Hood River. This film is not rated. Tickets are $5 at the door.
Groove Project at Naked Winery
The Groove Project is back at Naked Winery in Hood River from 7-10 p.m. on Saturday, April 20. Guitarist Rick Hulett will be joining Tim Mayer, Ryan Kolberg and Tim Ortlieb for the show. Scott Law at CEBU Lounge
The Scott Law Electric Band headlines both Friday and Saturday (April 19-20) this week at CEBU Lounge. Music is at 9:30 p.m. The band features Scott Law (guitar), Damian Erskine (bass) and Russ Kleiner (drums.) Expect two nights with two different set-lists. Musician-songwriter Scott Law embodies the ideal of the steel-string guitar master.

MacMillan plays Sunshine Mill
Jim MacMillan, Ryan McAlexander and Randy Bell will be performing an evening of all-original eclectic and evolving folk compositions — with a few new ones thrown in — on Friday, April 19, from 7-10 p.m. at the Sunshine Mill in The Dalles.
