Friends announces Gorge photo contest winners

Friends of the Columbia Gorge announced Matt Meisenheimer of Janesville, Wisc., as the grand prize winner of its third annual photo contest. The submission period for the contest ended on Sept. 10, a week after the outbreak of the Eagle Creek fire.

CASA seeks community support

Thanks to the generosity of the Gorge community, this past year, almost three-quarters of children in foster care in Hood River, Wasco and Sherman counties had a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer on their side, looking out for their best interests, stated a CASA press release.
