HRV boys soccer is underway with title ambitions

The HRV boys soccer team began their season last week with a jamboree in Woodburn against two of the top teams in the state. In their first matchup they beat Silverton, who are potential state contenders, 3-0, and in the final match of the day against defending state champions Woodburn it was a scoreless draw.

Jason Shaner 2nd at nat’l wrestling champs

Hood River Valley High School student Jason Shaner made history for the Eagles last week when he became the first male HRVHS wrestler to ever make it the finals of the USA Wrestling Junior Greco-Roman Wrestling National Championships in Fargo, N.D., according to HRV Head Wrestling Coach Trent Kroll.

HR teen wins big at Maccabiah Games

Maya Rayle, 17, of Hood River, participated on the U.S.A. Junior Track Team during the 20th Maccabiah Games in Israel earlier this month. Rayle, who competes on the Catlin Gabel track team and will be a senior this fall, took home a gold medal in the 800-meter run and a silver in the 1500 and 3000.
